EMG celebrates 30th anniversary at the 2017 AGM
EUROPEAN MOBILITY GROUP MEMBERS MEET IN LYON FOR 30TH ANNIVERSARY AGM
Members of the European Mobility Group (EMG) will meet in Lyon, France this week for their annual general meeting, celebrating 30 years of the membership organisation.
Established on 30th September 1987, EMG is a not-for-profit organisation of leading vehicle adaptation and conversion companies across Europe, and from other countries who trade within Europe. The EMG’s principal objective is to encourage sharing of knowledge and expertise, exchange of ideas and networking between member companies, and aiming to raise standards in the industry. EMG provides information about companies working to the same standards of quality and customer service, so that customers seeking specialists in this sector can be reassured that any company bearing the EMG logo can be trusted to deliver the highest standard of service and expertise.
The 2017 AGM takes place in Lyon on 7th and 8th September, hosted by Pimas SAS, a founder member of EMG and previous hosts of the AGM in 1998. The event will welcome around 100 delegates from EMG member companies and invited guests. The meeting will review the work of EMG over the past year, and look forward to future developments with a focus on ‘Past & Present’, including the potential for driverless vehicles and their impact on the mobility sector.
EMG President Campbell McKee comments: “It is a great testament to the history and strength of the organisation that the AGM continues to be so well attended. In an age where technology provides us with many and varied options for immediate – though virtual - communication, the opportunity to meet colleagues, exchange views and network face to face is still very much welcomed by our members.”
Pimas SAS MD, Tony Massapollo, adds: “As a founder member of the organisation, it is a huge privilege for Pimas to host this 30th anniversary meeting of EMG member companies. We look forward to welcoming delegates to Lyon for a productive meeting, together with a demonstration of our company’s latest technological developments at our premises in Vaulx en Velin, and sharing the delights of our beautiful city, its food and culture.”
EMG currently has around 50 Members, who collectively supply over 20,000 adapted and converted vehicles each year. Further details about the Group and its members are on the EMG website www.mobilitygroup.eu
