The Mobility Networks Group, a global specialist in wheelchair access solutions for vehicles, will be significantly expanding its Italian operations and strengthening its worldwide product portfolio following the acquisition of Caroil Systems S.p.a.
Based in Palidano di Gonzaga, Italy, Caroil Systems has been a highly regarded supplier of powered platform lifts for commercial vehicles since 1996. It has been acquired by Mobility Networks following commercial difficulties earlier in the year so existing and new customers can once again benefit from world-class products and service.
Mobility Networks is a pioneering multi-national specialist in wheelchair lifts, ramps, wheelchair accessible vehicles and further access products for the PCV and domestic WAV sectors. Through a synergy of global contacts, regional offices and proven manufacturers, Mobility Networks provides a single source for the very best access solutions from around the world. Led by international entrepreneur and Mobility Networks CEO Mike Simmonds, Mobility Networks’ headquarters based in Kent, UK, manages a proven infrastructure and service offering that spans all continents. Mobility Networks has expanded its network of services in Italy with the addition of Caroil. The existing Managing Director for Mobility Networks Italy, Leandro De Aguiar, will also fulfill this role for Caroil Systems S.p.a through his extensive experience in the accessible vehicle industry.
Leandro commented: “This acquisition is a significant development for Mobility Networks and will provide new and existing Caroil clients with greater benefits, a wider product range and added value. Conversely, the engineering expertise of Caroil can now be leveraged on a global scale across the Mobility Networks product portfolio. Together this commercial development will ensure Mobility Networks maintains its position as the worldwide pioneer in wheelchair passenger access.”
Leandro continues: “As we move forward during this transition period, we would like to thank all Caroil customers, suppliers and employees for their continued understanding and goodwill. The company is now once again fully operational. We appreciate there is significant work ahead however the team and I believe this venture will be a success.”
Mobility Networks CEO Mike Simmonds added: “In terms of the Mobility Networks Group, acquiring Caroil will benefit all convertors, fleet operators and body builders across the world. It will allow us to synergise R&D with our other manufacturers such as Passenger Lift Services (PLS) in the UK – resulting in an ability to push the boundaries of innovation even further. In addition to the wheelchair access lift division, this acquisition also includes Elephantcar – the commercial tail lift division of Caroil. We are excited to now be involved in this area of the business too so that Mobility Networks can widen its customer base and extend services into new sectors. I firmly believe Leandro has the acumen to fulfill this exciting new challenge as Mobility Networks continues to deliver unsurpassed excellence in safety and accessibility across the globe.”
