Robert Unwin retires
Unwin's Development Director Robert Unwin has retired after nearly 40 years' service with the company founded by his parents. Robert (pictured above) joined us as an apprentice in 1976, when our staff numbered just half a dozen.
Robert has long been one of the most popular figures in our industry, widely admired for his gentle and unfailing courtesy, his commitment to helping disabled people and his exceptional product knowledge.
Over the years, Robert has worked on almost every Unwin development, including Quiklok clamps in the 1970s, the portable hydraulic wheelchair lift Quiklift in the 80s, wheelchair testing in the 90s and Innotrax this century. He's also attended many shows, particularly the Mobility Roadshow.
